Catalina State Park, Oro Valley

Catalina State Park in beautiful Oro Valley is the best option for Tucson Loop camping. Catalina State park is about 500 yards from the Oro Valley CDO trail section of The Tucson Loop and Oro Valley Marketplace. Oro Valley Marketplace has many shopping, restaurant and bar options nearby. This particular state park is lauded by many tourists as one Arizona’s most scenic camping options. You can camp at one Arizona’s most scenic and well run campgrounds while enjoying some of the very best hiking opportunities that Southern Arizona has to offer. Nestled right up against the Catalinas, this state park is beloved by locals – many of whom moved to Oro Valley because this park and The Tucson Loop.

Catalina State Park is the only campground that is pretty much ON The Tucson Loop. From here you have are at the base of Upper 50 Year Trail – a fun, challenging mountain bike ride. Honeybee Canyon is just two miles away. Tucson Mountain Bike Rentals and Tours does trail head drop off for these trails.   Oro Valley Bike Rentals rents Tucson Loop hybrid and ebikes as well.
