Yes! There are unlimited cycling opportunities by using The Chuck Huckelberry Tucson Loop
Using the Tucson Loop bike path should be a strategy for every cyclist starting their Tucson cycling vacation.
Check out the cycling section of BikeArizona.org, the official media portal of The Arizona Bicycle Association. Tucson Bike Rentals offers great cycling content at tucsonbikerentals.org.
Oro Valley/CDO Tucson Loop Section
ALL of Oro Valley is very cycling friendly. Oro Valley/Marana is the most popular retirement destination for cyclists in America, according to BikeAZ.org.
Start your ride at The Oro Valley Market Place, hop on the The Tucson Loop and your choices are unlimited. We recommend biking on The Loop to Tangerine and First Avenue, then going west on wide shoulder to Twin Peaks. You can then go north on a very scenic uphill climb to The Ritz Carlton or you can hang a left, taking a wide bike lane on Twin Peaks all the way over the highway, staying in the bike lane going back to the Marana Loop section – or head all the way to Silver bell.
First Avenue/Vistoso Boulevard – Oro Valley, Arizona
Perhaps the most scenic road in Arizona, you can enjoy the saguaro laden Vistoso Boulevard and bike all throughout the Rancho Vistoso area of Oro Valley. Think about doing a loop ride from Tangerine and First Avenue to Innovation Parkway, taking a right going back to The Oro Valley Marketplace.
Climb “A” Mountain/Sentinel Peak
“A” Mountain/Sentinel Peak – This short but steep hill is a cyclist’s delight. Enjoy a beautiful overview of magnificent Tucson, Arizona. Exit the Congress Exit or start your ride at Barrio Mercado, starting your journey with some great coffee at Presta. Monday’s are car-free until 11 AM.
